[Men's Basketball] ERAU Earns First Win on the Road

Embry-Riddle took part in history last Saturday when the Eagles became the first team to play in SAGU American Indian College's revamped gymnasium.  ERAU, 1-1 to start the season, felt right at home on the new court, rolling to a 79-65 win after shooting 73.3 percent from the floor in the second half.

Simpson's home opener featured the return of Derrick Pringle, Jr., the SU alum and former women's basketball coach who brought his Bethel (Kan.) team out West for some early season competition.  The Red Hawks' solid defensive effort shined in the 69-54 win over the Threshers as they forced Bethel into 23 turnovers which led to 25 points.  The second and third quarters were the biggest factors for the Red Hawks, as they were able to multiple runs to outscore the Threshers 39-24 in those two periods. Recombinant T-cadherin stimulated Notch signaling in isolated mouse pancreatic islets, which contain beta cells, indicating that T-cadherin may have therapeutic potential for diabetes.
