LONDON, England – Following a brief hiatus, the No. 15 U.S. Women’s National Team returned to the 2022-23 FIH Hockey Pro League, starting off with a match against No. 1 The Netherlands. After playing a strong first three quarters and holding the Oranje to just two goals, the red, white and blue eventually fell 6-0.
In a long-time mediocre duel with the United States, which only came to fruition in the last quarter, it was clear for three quarters on Saturday afternoon in London that the Orange was not at full strength, because national coach Paul van Ass gave six decisive internationals a rest. The 6-0 win over the number eight in the FIH Pro League was a good time to see other players at work.

FIH Hockey Pro League action continued in London and Antwerp with 4 men’s and 4 women’s teams in action. Netherlands women were the first to get on the board with a 6-0 win over USA, who played a solid 50 minutes, but tired out towards the end conceding 4 goals in the final 10 minutes. New Zealand stunned Argentina in the second women’s game of the day taking 3 crucial points in the relegation battle.
