In a thrilling encounter in Antwerp, the Vantage Black Sticks Men displayed a much improved performance to draw 2-2 against Argentina, a dramatic improvement following their recent 6-1 defeat to the same team a couple of days earlier. GB Men put up a valiant show against the reigning World Champions Germany but went down 2-3 in a narrowly fought contest held at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
The GB men’s hopes of clinching the FIH Hockey Pro League title were dealt a blow when they suffered only their second defeat of the tournament, losing out 2-3 to world champions Germany in London. As a result, they’ve opened the door for the Netherlands and Belgium to potentially catch them at the top of the table. Over in Antwerp, the Belgians ensured they stayed in the hunt by beating Australia 3-1.
