Nikkei reverses course to end higher on bargain-buying; SoftBank leads
Japan's Nikkei share average ended 0.56% higher after investors bought up cheap shares of SoftBank Group, Advantest and Tokyo Electron. SoftBank rose 3.68% on news of a shift in focus to "offense mode", according to CEO Masayoshi Son, with enthusiasm around artificial intelligence advances. The indices initially tracked Wall Street losses then rose on investors' appetite to buy on dips.
