Electric vehicles (EVs) are more damaging for the environment than hybrid vehicles and conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, according to a study by IIT Kanpur. The analysis found that the manufacturing, use and scrapping of battery electric vehicles causes between 15% and 50% more greenhouse gases than hybrid or conventional engine cars. Additionally, producing EVs creates more emissions than producing ICE vehicles.
