One of India’s oldest hockey tournaments, the MCC-Murugappa Gold Cup, will be returning to the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai after a lengthy COVID-19-induced hiatus on August 24.
Come October, India will see another Asian premier tournament on its soils. It will be hosting the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy at Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand State. Six top Asian nations including Thailand will be in action at Ranchi, home of India’s first Olympic captain, Jaipal Singh Munda. It will start on 27th Oct.
The stage is set for the upcoming Hockey One season as the 2023 Brisbane Blaze Final Squads of 22 have been officially announced.
The Four A Section games on Day 2 were incredibly tight with no team winning by more than 2 goals across the four games.

Sudeep Chirmako (22') scored the lone goal for India. Germany's goals came from Florian Sperling (15'), Ben Hasbach (20'), Hugo von Montgelas (23'), Fabio Seitz (38'), Nikas Berendts (41'), and Paul Glander (43').

It finished a day where there were a quartet of five zero scorelines, underlining the ever-present Pro League against second tier teams who can barely summon Test match ranking points.

Scotland lost 5-0 to England in their final pool match of the Women’s EuroHockey Championships in Monchengladbach.
The Vitality England women's team secured a huge 5-0 victory against Scotland in the final group game of the EuroHockey Championships with semi-final spots on the line.
Belgium’s men made it two wins from two as a dominant first half performance put them out of sight of Spain, becoming the first side to reach the semi-finals of the EuroHockey Championships in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
