The Asia Cup Super 4 match between India and Pakistan in Colombo had a disappointing turnout despite reduced ticket prices. The organizers were expecting a good crowd since Colombo has a large Indian and Pakistani population. However, even though the rain stayed away, tickets were still available offline and online. The speculation about a possible venue shift may have affected ticket sales as well. The match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh also had empty spaces in the stands.

The annual LGBT Pride parade was held in the Serbian capital for the 11th time on September 9. Organizers said it was the most attended so far. Police cordoned off protesters waving Serbian Orthodox symbols. Unlike previous years, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who lives in a lesbian relationship, did not take part. President Aleksandar Vucic has declared he will never sign a bill recognizing same-sex couples.
