Mortgage rates are holding steady in the 6% range for popular terms as of Tuesday, March 12, 2024. As with Monday's rates, the current average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage is 6.95%, with a 30-year fixed refinance at 6.94%. Rates for 15-year terms are also steady at 6.47% for purchase and 6.52% for refinance, with 10-year terms at 6.34% for purchase and 6.34% for refinance. The average rate on a 30-year fixed jumbo mortgage is a slightly lower 7.02%.
