Evoked potential studies have shown that speech planning modulates auditory cortical responses. The phenomenon’s functional relevance is unknown. We tested whether, during this time window of cortical auditory modulation, there is an effect on speakers’ perceptual sensitivity for vowel formant discrimination. Participants made same/different judgments for pairs of stimuli consisting of a pre-recorded, self-produced vowel and a formant-shifted version of the same production. Читать дальше...

PurposeThis study aimed to investigate the mediating role of fear of progression on illness perception and social alienation among maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients.
BackgroundMHD is frequently accompanied by increased pain and complications such as itchy skin, chronic fatigue, and muscle spasms. Cardiovascular disease rates are also elevated among MHD patients, which can heighten their anxiety regarding prognosis and treatment discomfort. Читать дальше...

It sounds like the 12-year wait between Dragon’s Dogma and its sequel has worked out in Capcom’s favor. In its first two weeks, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has already sold twice as many copies as the first game did in a month.
KYLE Edwards has been ruled out for the season after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
We got a Pride-themed installment of Station 19.
Unfortunately, after Station 19 Season 7 Episode 3, our Round Table isn't feeling very prideful, as they express mixed feelings about how the series tackled the theme and who the hour centered.
The installment included a blast from the past when Maya saw her brother Mason protesting Pride and Travis and his father having a much-needed heart-to-heart.
Join our Station 19 Round Table, which is comprised of Ellie MV, Heather M.... Читать дальше...
The Primavera House, located in a residential neighborhood in the city of Toledo-PR, is the result of a transformation opportunity. The mid-80s residence aimed to create a new, current space that could meet the demands of a growing family. The existing structure was preserved, and some internal walls were removed to integrate the spaces. Additionally, two expansions were added, one at the front and another at the back.

Visuo-spatial working memory (VSWM) for sequences is thought to be crucial for daily behaviors. Decades of research indicate that oscillations in the gamma and theta bands play important functional roles in the support of visuo-spatial working memory, but the vast majority of that research emphasizes measures of neural activity during memory retention. The primary aims of the present study were (1) to determine whether oscillatory dynamics in the Theta... Читать дальше...

Quantitative gait analysis is important for understanding the non-typical walking patterns associated with mobility impairments. Conventional linear statistical methods and machine learning (ML) models are commonly used to assess gait performance and related changes in the gait parameters. Nonetheless, explainable machine learning provides an alternative technique for distinguishing the significant and influential gait changes stemming from a given intervention. Читать дальше...

The expansion of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has raised a wide range of concerns about its environmental impact. Therefore, from the perspective of environmental impacts, this study used the two-way fixed effect staggered differences in differences (TWFE Staggered DID) method to examine the impact of the BRI on the Environment Goods (EGs) intra-industry trade (IIT) between China and other Belt and Road (B&R) countries, including a sample of 191 countries...
