BackgroundNeuroblastoma (NB) is the most common extracranial solid tumor in children, and the AURKA gene encodes a protein kinase involved in cell cycle regulation that plays an oncogenic role in a variety of human cancers. The aim of this study was to validate the biological function and prognostic significance of AURKA in NB using basic experiments and bioinformatics.
MethodsData obtained from Target and GEO databases were analyzed using various bioinformatic techniques. Читать дальше...

PurposeThe aim was to longitudinally explore changes in fatigue- and cognition-related symptoms during the first year after hospital treatment for COVID-19.
MethodPatients hospitalized for COVID-19 in Gothenburg, Sweden, were consecutively included from 01-07-2020 to 28-02-2021. Patients were assessed at the hospital (acute) and at 3 and 12 months after hospital discharge. Cognition was assessed with the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)... Читать дальше...

Despite significant strides in big data technology, extracting information from unstructured clinical data remains a formidable challenge. This study investigated the utility of large language models (LLMs) for extracting clinical data from unstructured radiological reports without additional training. In this retrospective study, 1800 radiologic reports, 600 from each of the three university hospitals, were collected, with seven pulmonary outcomes defined. Читать дальше...

PurposeTo test to what degree retinal fluid (RF) after the loading phase and at the end of year 1 predicts long-term functional outcomes in neovascular macular degeneration (nAMD), as do macular (MA) atrophy, treatment density and treatment interval extension.
MethodsIn this retrospective single-center cohort study, a consecutive series of eyes with treatment-naïve nAMD followed under a treat-and-extend (T&E) protocol followed over ≥2 years. Читать дальше...

BackgroundCognitive impairment (CI) in HIV is often of multifactorial causation, and remains a prominent issue in the age of effective combination antiretroviral therapy (cART), affecting approximately 14% of people living with HIV. Despite the 2018 BHIVA directive stating the importance of commencing rehabilitation strategies in people living with HIV with CI, no types of cognitive rehabilitations or other non-pharmaceutical interventions are specifically recommended. Classifying animal behaviors in their natural environments is both challenging and ecologically important, but the use of biologgers with multiple sensors has significantly advanced this research beyond the capabilities of traditional methods alone. Here, we show how biologgers containing an integrated tri-axial accelerometer, GPS logger and immersion sensor were used to infer behavioural states of a cryptic, freshwater turtle, the Blanding’s turtle (Emydoidea blandingii). Taking the development of China’s digital economy as a background, the article provides an in-depth analysis and summarises the influencing factors of labour force employment polarisation. The study employs provincial panel data from 2010 to 2020, applies fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis methods, and constructs a fixed-effects model in order to explore the drivers, paths and their effects of employment polarisation. The results of the study show that economic... Читать дальше...
