A colorful sponsor livery adorns this Mustang “Sparky”, seen on static display during the 2011 Air Power Expo at Travis AFB.  This aircraft was used during filming of the HBO movie “Red Tails”, and now wears wartime 4th Fighter Group colors with the name “Blondie”.  More than 8100 of the D-model were produced, contributing to the total of 15,000 Mustangs built for the war.  After World War II, the P-51 Mustang served in the air forces of over 55 countries.  Nikon D300 w/18-200mm.
