Watch: Kieran Trippier’s classy, tearful interaction with the Spurs fans

Kieran Trippier has had a rollercoaster of a year from being one of the standout performers at last summer’s World Cup to becoming somewhat of a scapegoat among Tottenham Hotspur fans.

Trippier was named in Mauricio Pochettino’s side for last night’s Champions League final against Liverpool but was unable to help influence the game which saw Liverpool crowned as champions of Europe for the sixth time.

After the final whistle at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, the right-back made his way towards the Spurs supporters in what could have been a goodbye.
