Coach Rémi Garde said there was no excuse for the effort put forth by his team Saturday and that he was embarrassed by the performance, adding there was too much individual play. “We missed some things technically, but the team spirit has to be there,” said Garde. “When there is no spirit inside the team, you cannot talk about tactics, you cannot talk about physical problems. I think today we have no excuse for what we produced, or rather failed to produce, especially in the first 45 minutes.”
