And tonight viewers will see Tommy and Lucie hit it off over dinner while Joe is left stewing in the villa.

Curtis Pritchard does his best to reassure Joe, but it doesn’t look like his words have much effect.

Meanwhile Tommy is aware everyone is talking about his decision to couple up with Lucie and the pair have a heart to heart.

Viewers were left outraged when boxer Tyson Fury’s brother chose to break up the only happy couple in the villa – just moments after they had shared a passionate kiss by the fire pit.

The 22-year-old could be seen with his head in his hands after Tommy whisks Lucie Donlan away on a date in tomorrow night’s episode.

He appeared to suffer an emotional breakdown after losing the girl he felt a strong connection with after just 24 hours in the villa.

In a sneak preview for tomorrow night’s episode, the 21-year-old surfer can be seen making the most of her time with the hunky newcomer after he stole her from Joe in tonight’s coupling ceremony.

But while it looks as though Lucie’s disappointment is short lived – Joe becomes consumed with heartbreak.

The concern comes after ITV2 dating show host Caroline Flack said she was “really, really angry” that Love Island was blamed for the death of Mike Thaslassitis, 26.

He was found dead in a park after a secret battle with depression.

After public outcry, Love Island bosses have beefed up their aftercare plan offering duty of care before, during and after the show.

Earlier in the episode, Lucie and Joe – who were early front runners to win – became the first couple to snog.

And Lucie herself admitted Joe was the one for her, as she told Tommy: “Out of everybody we’re the couple that are getting on the most.”

But Tommy pursed the Cornish surfer relentlessly and sweet-talked her with his love of Disney films.

“I’m here to make a good connection,” he told her.

Just before the recoupling, Joe made an emotional confession before they shared a passionate kiss at the fire pit.

“I would want to be with you throughout the whole process,” he said.

But Joe’s dreams were soon left in tatters as bombshell Tommy swooped in to recouple with his girl.

“This decision is far harder than I thought it ever could be,” Tommy said and insisted he had tried to be “polite” about it.When he chose Lucie she looked like she was close to tears and refused to kiss him.

They stood awkwardly next to each other as Joe broke down with emotion.

Earlier in the show things got steamy between Lucie and Joe as the girls and boys battled it out in today’s challenge.

First up the boys had to grease up and slide down into a pool of slime and recover a secret about one of the girls.

The boy then had to decide who the secret is about. Once he made the decision, the boy had to then plant a kiss on the girl.

Convinced one of the secrets referred to Lucie, Joe went in for the kill and kissed the Cornish surfer.

Lucie and Joe were the early favourites to win Love Island, according to bookies.

The pair got together during last night’s launch and already appeared to have an edge over the rest with 4/1 odds of ending the show as the top couple.

According to odds comparison site Oddschecker, the pair were also slated to finish on top individually with odds of 9/4 and 2/1 respectively.

Lucie originally coupled up with fireman Michael Griffiths only to later swap him with sandwich seller Joe.

She then caught the eye of Scottish gym owner Anton, who turned his back on partner Amy Hart in a bid to make a move on her.

During the show, Donlan admitted that she once had sex in a nightclub.
