The mosque can accommodate 25,000 people, who offer their prayers in unison.
It was built in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who also built the iconic Red Fort and the world famous Taj Mahal.
The building has three great gates and four towers as well as two 130ft minarets made from strips of red sandstone and white marble.
Traditionally, the festival last for three days but public holidays can vary in different countries around the world.
