(If) The Price is Right

I haven’t really heard of any of these players that we are being linked with which really worries me considering the bizarre recruitment set up we have. If Mislantat was still at the helm I’d be fine with unknowns coming in. Without him it all seems a bit worrying. BTW, I also wonder if we do have more than we say we have in the transfer kitty.

Rumours increasing that Auba is heading for China.

If we get £100m I would take it.

I would hate to lose Auba but for a decent amount (more than £100m for me) i would also take it, said before and will say again, defense defense defense….

we need TWO TOP CB’s and id say a RB and LB too…the whole lot, none of what we have are good enough, ship out some deadwood and oldies and replace, focus on that

we can and do score but we dont keep many clean sheets at all and as shown in the EL final we are WEAK, soon as one goes in 3 go in!

if we have enough then a MF and RW too….

Wenger, Mourinho or Lampard for Chelsea job

Having No Money and using the youth team or signing youngsters is what Wenger is all about. 50/1 in the above manager market – Impossible? Juicy odds that may be worth a tiny investment considering our situation with a transfer ban upon us and a stack of young Chelsea talent around the place. Surely not but you never know

It appears that Sarri prefers to work in his home country which is understandable with all its added little pleasures and cultures not everyone can adjust to different country, I’m sure he must realise managing Juventus is even more pressurised than Chelsea as they expected to win the league every season. Too early for Lampard but Chelsea are in a no other choice situation. My only dearest wish is that Lampard does not end up getting the sack. We going to struggle with the ban but at the same time it’s our greatest opportunity to really see if we can use those younger home bred players, If they go ahead with this plan and it’s successful the world will be our oyster so we have to go that route now. I’m personally confident it will work after all nothing separates the local home bred player opposed to big name imports except true determination something Lampard always had.

While I can see the attraction of Jose teaming up with JT I do have some concerns because for me, Jose looked a bit outdated at Manu and struggled. Just wondering if his style, methodology and tactics are past their sell buy date now…?

That being said he knows the Club well and I think would work very well with JT. They would immediately bring the passion back to Chelsea, we would become mentally strong again which is not a bad thing certainly if they do integrate some of the youth as that can then be carried forward for a number of years and filter through the lower levels of the Club as well

But Jose was never great in bringing youth through and normally likes to spend so would a transfer ban suit him..? I actually think he may warm to that challenge especially if we take the hit on the ban as expectations for the Club should be reduced on the managerial team meaning less pressure to win and the chance to try different options, i.e. some of the kids

Interesting thought and I would think something not totally ruled out by Roman as between them they certainly have some kind of love/hate relationship and it could/would make for an easier transition…? Adding Petr into the mix with JoeC here already as well could be something that Jose would embrace. KTBFFH

Maybe Jose would see the transfer ban as the ultimate challenge and the best way to prove he is not a checkbook manager?

Not sure I’d want him back or not. A few months ago I would have said no way, Jose (sorry) but I can see the merit in it. It all depends if he still has the old fire in his belly, as for me, he hasn’t seemed the same since the Madrid job. I agree with Bort that his analysis of the game is so good, and maybe if we lose a few of the egos from the squad and use the younger players they might rally around him. If he could build that same spirit he did with that first title-winning team he assembled for us I’d be happy. I look at the team spirit and togetherness instilled by Klopp, Poch and Pep and have to say we are nowhere near that at the moment.

Reds fans react to Steve Nicol comments on Origi

What are you talking about? Origi is going nowhere. Bobby was injured & we needed a miracle to stay in the CL. Divock stepped up & showed he can cover for Bobby & is the man for the big occasion. This is not about sentiment. He proved Klopp was right to give him a chance last season. He deserves to be in our squad for next season. As for the title, City were lucky Kompany wasn’t sent off for his challenge on Salah when they beat us at the Etihad & they know it given their celebrations. That game decided the title. Last season we took a point from them & they took four from us. If we can improve to take four from them next season & maintain our league consistency we will be challenging for the title again.

I also agree with Steve Nicol, no room for sentiment if you want to win the PL.
We really do need a striker/forward of top quality & Origi is not that.
One thing Origi will always have is the thanks of all LFC fans.
Klopp may keep him(I think he will) but as 4th choice striker/winger.

VVD to win the Balon D’or

So who’s going to win the Ballon Dor now? VVD has just improved his chances, but I feel the weight of expectation is that Messi will get it because he also had a great season and because its Messi.

mwake

I also think VVD actually deserves it. Messi is Messi, but this season it’s VVD who has not only performed to an incredibly high standard, but also transformed the entire team. Together with Allison, but it’s not a joint award.

MUFC fans debate Pogba rumours

Pjanic for Pogba? A very good midfielder but should have been bought before Juventus.

Zico

Zico-In the day City agree to pay J.Felix release clause, you want us to go for a nearly 30- yrs- old??Lol
