This elderly protester is taking on Donald Trump at 88

0

This protesting pensioner has been standing up for what he thinks is right for the past six decades.

So it was no surprise to see Bunny Easton, 88, in London yesterday along with thousands of other Trump protesters.

Although he did look a little out of place as he shuffled across Parliament Square with the aid of his walking stick.

Meanwhile, younger protesters around him lost their cool a little, tossing milkshakes and shouting ‘Nazi scum’ at Trump supporters who replied with chants of ‘fascist scum’.

As both sets of protesters clashed nearby, Bunny opened up about his fears for society and the visiting president.

He told Metro.co.uk: ‘Trump is dangerous, he could start a nuclear war. People don’t appreciate how bad Trump is.

‘I don’t think they appreciate he is capable of starting a nuclear war at any time and that is the most important factor.

‘If he does start a nuclear war it means a major slice of humanity could well be wiped out and I don’t want to be wiped out.’

In 1949, Bunny was a conscientious objector when he became due for national service, but he said his activism didn’t really start until the 1955 general election.

And in all that time, he says he has never felt as threatened by a world leader as he is by Trump.

He said: ‘I remember in 1962, there was a threat of nuclear war and there was a joke around what are you going to do in the last four minutes.

‘People were very worried. But now I think it could be worse. I don’t trust Trump an inch.

‘He’s just governed by his emotions of the moment, and such emotions could mean a nuclear war at any time.’

When asked if he fears for future generations, he said: ‘I fear for the now. He’s capable at any time.’
