Carlos Carrasco out indefinitely after diagnosis of blood condition
The Indians expect him to return sometime this season.
The Cleveland Indians announced today that SP Carlos Carrasco is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a blood condition.
Carlos Carrasco is temporarily stepping away from baseball to address a blood condition that has caused him to feel lethargic in recent weeks. The Indians don’t know when he’ll return, but they say they expect him back at some point this season. pic.twitter.com/5rH0UfBAki

At the time of posting there were no additional details about the condition, nor a more specific idea of about what Carrasco’s treatment might involve.
While the loss of another starting pitcher further hurts the Indians’ hopes of rallying to win the AL Central, the season is less important than the health of the players. We hope Carrasco makes a quick and full recovery.
Mandy Bell announced the plan for tonight’s game, which Carrasco was slated to start.
Carlos Carrasco will not make today’s start. He was recently diagnosed with a blood condition & his timetable is TBD.

Today will be a bullpen day with Tyler Clippard starting. To get more arms up, they optioned Greg Allen to Triple-A & brought up Jon Edwards and Nick Goody.
