Western Australia is on the verge of being battered by an almost week-long storm, bringing with it three cold fronts, strong winds and consistent rain. The weather system is being welcomed as drought relief with many parts of the state experiencing their driest start to the year on record. The entire coast is expected to receive 20 millimetres in 24 hours. With rainfall expected to begin by Thursday night, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services is urging residents to cover their vehicles, tie down loose objects and prepare an emergency kit.
