Emmerdale fans in tears as Lisa Dingle leaves emotional messages from beyond the grave for her family
EMMERDALE fans were tonight left in tears after the Dingle family received touching letters from Lisa from beyond the grave.
Tonight saw the famous soap clan gather to say farewell to their matriarch, after she died last month.
In emotional scenes on this evening’s episode, the village all joined forced to attend Lisa’s funeral.
Last month Lisa broke the sad news to the rest of the Dingle clan that she’s suffering from a terminal heart condition, leaving them all devastated, but determined to make the most of the time they have left with her.
Unfortunately it wasn’t long before she passed away.
In emotional scenes she died on her wedding day, after leaving the reception to get changed for her honeymoon.
But tonight fans were in bits again as the Dingles said goodbye to their beloved Lisa.
They gathered at her funeral, with Zack draping her favourite quilt over her coffin.
The Dingle men then carried the coffin into the church where they paid tribute to her.
In the second episode of the night it was revealed that Lisa had left her family all letters to say one last goodbye to each one individually.
This was all too much for viewers, with one tweeting: “Lisa dingles death is getting me right in the feels #emmerdale.”
Another said: “Lisa’s letter to Belle is too much Feel like Lisa’s my telly mum too #Emmerdale.”
While this one commented: “Lisa’s letters have got me emosh #Emmerdale [sic].”
Actress Jane Cox, who played Lisa for 23 years, confirmed she was leaving the Dales in May .
She had previously confessed that she quit the soap that’s been part of her life for almost 25 years because of the gruelling hours now Emmerdale is six days a week.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the 67-year-old actress said: “It is long, long days and then you don’t have time in the evening because you have lines to learn for the next day.”
“I decided that this is going to be my time to do things I didn’t have time to do. I still feel about 20-odd, but in 20 years I will be 87, and there are other things in life that I want to explore.”
“I know if I hadn’t have left now I never would. Life is such an exciting thing, you never know what is around the corner. It was a big decision but I know it is the right thing,” she says.
