Tyson Fury says chances of him ever fighting Anthony Joshua are ‘slim’ as he predicts Andy Ruiz Jr will win rematch
TYSON FURY fears he will never get to fight Anthony Joshua.
The British public are desperate to watch the country’s top two fighters battle it out in the ring.
But Joshua must first face Andy Ruiz Jr in a highly-anticipated rematch after losing all of his world heavyweight belts in a shock defeat to the Mexican earlier this month.
Some feel AJ has already been dodging a clash with Fury and fellow top heavyweight Deontay Wilder.
Fury came close to beating the American big-hitter last year, having to settle for a draw after an epic bout in Los Angeles.
But the Gypsy King reckons his own chances of fighting Joshua will be zero if there’s a second consecutive win for Ruiz.
Speaking ahead of a Las Vegas clash with unbeaten German Tom Schwarz on June 15, Fury told CNN: “If Joshua loses again, like I think he will, then [the chances of us fighting are] very slim.
“If a little fat kid can beat him then people are saying, ‘Well, anybody can beat him now’.
“I’m a fat kid, so join the club. I’ve just come down from 400 pounds. If I ain’t fat, I don’t know what is.
“[Upcoming fight with Schwarz?] He’s just another man with a pair of boxing gloves on, trying to do his job, trying to get a victory over Tyson Fury.
