First pic of man who died in ‘murder-suicide’ of mum ‘day after she started new relationship’
THIS is the man who died in a suspected murder-suicide of young mum Regan Tierney.
Daniel Patten, 31, was found fatally wounded at Regan’s house in Walkden, Greater Manchester, early on Wednesday — just one day after she announced a new relationship on Facebook.
Cops went to the address after they received reports of concern for Regan’s welfare.
It is understood that she was found with stab injuries.
Police have now launched a murder investigation — but say they aren’t looking for anyone else in connection with Regan’s death.
Daniel was Regan’s ex-partner and the dad of their two children, seven-year-old Lorelei and four-year-old Dexter, the Manchester Evening News reports.
He died in hospital last night after he was found critically injured at Regan’s house.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Packer, of Greater Manchester Police’s Salford district, said: “Regan’s family are understandably absolutely heartbroken and we have specialist officers supporting them at this devastating time.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing and we are determined to establish the circumstances that led to this tragic incident so that we can provide her family with the answers they rightly deserve.
“We are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident but I would still urge anyone with any information that could assist our investigation to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Regan’s grief-stricken loved ones paid tribute to her earlier this week.
In a statement they described her as a “loving mum who loved family life” who “will be greatly missed by her two children and family”.
They added: “Regan was taken from our lives too soon.
