Tesla denied tariff relief for Model 3 'brain': report

U.S. regulators have denied requests to exempt two components of the Tesla Inc. Model 3 from 25% tariffs levied on Chinese-made goods, according to a Reuters report Thursday that cited a letter. Tesla stock lost some steam in midday trading and was recently up 1.6% at $212.67, from a previous intraday high of $214.90. The stock is down 36% this year, contrasting with gains of 15% and 12% for the S&P 500 index and the Dow Jones Industrial Average .
