Fortnite DOWN – shooter out of action as thousands report they can’t connect online
FORTNITE is down for gamers across the UK and Europe.
Thousands of frustrated users are reporting that they’re unable to access the popular video game.
Problems began around 4:15pm GMT and are showing no sign of letting up just yet.
UK spots including London, Colchester, Birmingham and Manchester appear worst affected.
Fortnite maker Epic Games has not released an official comment on the outage, and it’s unclear what’s causing the issue.
In total, more than 1,800 people have reported problems with Fortnite to DownDetector, which tracks online outages.
Gamers are reporting on social media that they can reach the online lobby, but can’t connect to matchmaking servers.
Those trying to log in are hit with an error message that reads: “Sorry, but we had to disable matchmaking. We’re working hard to bring it back up.”
Players took to Twitter to vent their frustrations at the outage.
“Fortnite servers down I repeat fortnite servers down S.O.S S.O.S MAYDAY MAYDAY,” panicked one tweeter.
