Cyclone Vayu has spared Gujarat as it moves away from the state coast and towards Oman. Even though the "eye of the storm" is away from land, the cyclone's outer periphery would leave its impact on the coast, officials said. The danger of heavy winds and rain in coastal areas continued. Three lakh people have already been evacuated from low-lying areas to safer places.
