[Baseball] Baseball has five Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes
Kansas Wesleyan Baseball had five student-athletes named as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2019 season.
Rodney Bond (JR/Frisco, Texas), Matt Hansen (SR/Monument, Colo.), Yodai Nakamura (SR/Las Vegas, Nev.), Brad Kugler (SR/Monument, Colo.) and John Olivier (JR/Castle Rock, Colo.) all received the honor.
Bond is a senior majoring in Marketing.
Hansen is a senior majoring in Business Management.
Nakamura is a senior majoring in Exercise Science - Personal Training.
Kugler is a senior majoring in Personal Training and Sports Management.
Olivier is a junior majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy.
The 2019 list features 439 student-athletes with Robert Morris (Ill.) leading the way with 16 selections. Indiana Tech, Indiana Wesleyan, Texas College and Antelope Valley all tied for the second largest total with eight each.
In order to be named as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 GPA as defined by the institution, be of junior academic status and have attended the current institution for at least one full academic year as a transfer or two full academic years as a non-transfer.
