Templegate – Le Brivido

He was a fine fifth in the Queen Anne Over a mile on Tuesday when the petrol ran out in the closing stages. That came after he was unlucky in the Lockinge – again over a mile – at Newbury.

I’ve always thought he was more of a sprinter and he’s drawn near likely trailblazer Kachy so he’ll get a good tow into the race.

Matt Chapman – City Light

The one I like each-way is last year’s French-trained runner-up CITY LIGHT, who likes to come from off the pace and stays strongly. He returned to form with a decent comeback at Maisons-Laffitte last time and this time last year went desperately close to winning the big prize. Conditions are ideal for another huge effort.

Wizard Of Odds – Blue Point

We cashed in on BLUE POINT winning the King’s Stand on day one and he can repeat the feat in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

He couldn’t have been much more impressive in seeing off Battaash by more than a length. It could be asking a lot to try and produce that form again so soon but trainer Charlie Appleby is adamant he can do it — and who are we to argue?

Trends – Sands Of Mali

We’re down to a trends shortlist of Blue Point, Invincible Army, Le Brivido and Sands Of Mali.

Of that pair only Blue Point and SANDS OF MALI have landed a Group 1 success. The former may feel the effects of winning here on Tuesday so Richard Fahey’s hope can do the business at decent odds.
