First picture of mum, 30, found dead as man, 28, is arrested on suspicion of murder
A woman who was found dead at a property in Andover this morning has been named by her family as Lucy Dyson.
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of her murder after the mum, 30, was found at a house in Suffolk Road, Hampshire.
Officers were called to the address in Suffolk Road at 5.30am on Sunday.
A 28-year-old man was arrested later today in connection with the death, according to Hampshire Police.
A force spokesman said: ‘We can confirm a man has been arrested this afternoon following the death of a woman in Andover.
‘The 28-year-old man, from Andover, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at this time.’
The spokesman added: ‘Formal identification procedures are ongoing however her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.’
DCI John McGonigle said: ‘Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
‘We are carrying out extensive enquiries so you will see a significant policing presence in the community.
‘We understand that this news will be very upsetting for those living in the area, but I would like to reassure you that our officers are in the area conducting searches, carrying out house-to-house enquiries and following several lines of enquiry.
‘At this stage we do not believe that there is an ongoing risk to the wider community but if you have any concerns please speak to our officers on patrol.’
