ABERCROMBIE ADDS TO HR TOTAL AS GOLDEYES EDGE MILKMEN

Winnipeg 4, Milwaukee 3-Box Score

The Goldeyes took a 1-0 lead on a solo home run by the league’s all-time home run leader CF Reggie Abercrombie in the bottom of the second. Winnipeg made it a 3-0 game on a two-run home run by Kyle Martin in the bottom of the fifth. Martin drove in another runner with a sac fly in the bottom of the sixth to give the Goldeyes a 4-0 lead.

The Milkmen made it a 4-2 game on a two-run home run by LF Adam Walker in the top of the seventh. Milwaukee would cut the lead to 4-3 on an RBI single by Garrett Copeland in the top of the eighth.

Winnipeg’s SP Joel Seddon earned the win after giving up just two earnedin 6.2 innings of work. RHP Victor Capellan pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Abercrombie now has 134 career American Association home runs.

RedHawks 6, Chicago 1 (F/7 Doubleheader Game One)-Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks topped the Chicago Dogs in game one of a doubleheader on Sunday.

The RedHawks scored the first run of game one in the bottom of the third without getting a hit. CF Devan Ahart drew a bases loaded walk to put Fargo-Moorhead up 1-0. In the very next at-bat, 1B Corelle Prime broke up SP Trevor Simms’ no-hitter with a bases clearing double to give the RedHawks a 4-0 lead. Prime scored on an error to make it 5-0 in the next at bat.

The Dogs got on the scoreboard on a two-out RBI double by 3B Jordan Dean in the top of the fifth, but C Rey Gonzalez was thrown out at home to hold the game at 5-1.

Prime drove in yet another run for Fargo-Moorhead on a single in the bottom of the fifth to bring the game to its final score.

SP Ryan Williams earned the win in his debut for the RedHawks after giving up just one earned in five innings of work, allowing just five hits while recording one strikeout.

Cleburne 12, Kansas City 2 (Game One Doubleheader)-Box Score

The Cleburne Railroaders picked up a win over the Kansas City T-Bones in a game that was suspended Saturday in the top of the third with Cleburne leading 2-0.

The Railroaders’ bats came alive when play resumed. Cleburne collected 13 total hits in the contest with 2B Daniel Robertson (3-for-4) and RF Hunter Clanin (1-for-4, 1 HR) each driving in three runners.

DH Chris Colabello paced the T-Bones in his debut, going 2-for-4 at the dish with one run scored.

RHP Braden Pearson was awarded the win.
