The Grand Jubile is FINISHED
After a few headaches and hunting of parts I finished the Grand Jubile ... I resolved my headset issues by contacting the same gentleman who sold me the NOS Motobecane Grand Jubile fork, he also had a NOS stronglight headset which worked out perfectly and allowed me to assemble the bike this week . I finished running the cables this evening. Not sure what I am doing to do now that it's done , I imagine I will get it on the road next weekend and then make a decision on whether to make it permanent fleet or pass it on to someone else who will cherish it.
Anyway the build is mostly parts I had in my bin save for the new Tange Swiss thread bottom bracket and new Shimano 127.5 spindle and bearings, previously mentioned headset , some VO cables and a KMC chain . I went with index shifting and as an upgrade . I used a set of wheels with Phil Wood hubs I have been saving for quite a long time.
Interestingly enough the Serfas cloth bar tape was listed as being midnight black, silver and red . However in the right light it looks almost blue ...
