Disneyland ready to swing doors open to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as reservation period ends
The dress rehearsal is over and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is ready for the masses.
Disneyland opens the doors to the new 14-acre land on Monday after an initial reservation-only “soft opening” period. Here’s what you need to know:
No reservations needed: Disneyland begins using a virtual queue system on Monday. It’s like a FastPass for the land.
Popular spots: The cantina and lightsaber-building shop now require reservations. Book online or use the Disneyland app starting at 7 a.m. Monday.
If you go: Mickey & Friends parking garage opens at 6 a.m. Monday. Disneyland’s main gate opens at 8 a.m. No overnight campouts in the esplanade.
Under construction: The new 6,500-space Pixar Pals parking structure won’t be ready by Monday. Disneyland will work with Anaheim police and traffic officials to manage Monday’s influx of visitors.
The big question: Will Southern California locals and annual passholders show up or wait for the crowds to subside?
