Spurs flop Vincent Janssen offered escape route by Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht
SPURS flop Vincent Janssen is being offered an escape route out of the Premier League by new Anderlecht boss Vincent Kompany.
The Dutch striker, 25, arrived in North London for £17million in July 2016 but has scored just two goals in the English top flight since then, with his last coming in April 2017.
Anderlecht sporting director Michael Verschueren said “we’re almost there” in regards to the deal.
Janssen played no part in Tottenham’s incredible march to the Champions League final and finally looks on the brink of leaving the club, according to Belgian website HLN.
The move would see him link up with Man City legend Kompany, who is preparing for his first season as player-manager in the Jupiler Pro League.
Anderlecht want to breathe new life into the side after a disappointing play-off campaign which saw them finish outside of the European places.
It is not yet clear how much Anderlecht will have to pay for ex-AZ forward Janssen, who remains under contract at Spurs until 2020.
