Watch moment Billy Joe Saunders’ son, 10, echoes his dad with famous ‘where did your punch go?’ signature move during amateur fight

BILLY JOE SAUNDERS’ son Steve proved he is a chip off the old block with this hilarious mimicking of his old man.

Steve Saunders, 10, was in boxing action himself at the weekend as he hopes to one-day emulate his world champ dad.

And he is already copying some his moves in the ring.

Back in December 2017 Billy Joe travelled over to Canada for what was supposed to be his toughest fight to date against big-punching David Lemieux.

But what played out was a boxing masterclass as the Brit defended his middleweight title with ease, winning 120-108, 117-111, 118-110 on the judges’ scorecards.

But it was in the fifth-round of their fight where Billy Joe delivered the ultimate taunt to his Canadian opponent.

As Lemieux waded in with a wild miss, Billy Joe put his glove to his forehead as if to “look out” to where the punch went.

FOLLOWING DAD’S LEAD

And his pride and joy Steve did exactly the same in his latest fight as his opponent lunged in and missed.

Young Steve is no stranger to making the headlines himself.

Last month he was filmed cruising around a car park in the sunshine with music blaring from his dad’s £166,000 Ferrari stereo before pulling donuts in a field.

In February little Steve was put behind the wheel of a 4×4 and he drove it through a field.

Steve punched Willie Monroe Jr in the groin before his dad’s fight in September 2017 and was later forced to apologise.

Last month Billy Joe landed his second world title with a defensive masterclass against overmatched Shefat Isufi.

Seven months after dropping his WBO middleweight world title over a failed drugs test, the proud Traveller landed himself the same strap up at super-middle with a virtuoso display that was only marred by a round-six scare.

With the 12st belt now around his waist, the former Team GB Olympian can chase down unification fights with monsters like Callum Smith and Canelo.

But he will need to be more spiteful after winning it 120-108, 117-111 and 118-110 on the scorecards.
