Letter: If there’s no dirt, foreign governments will fake it
If there’s no dirt, foreigngovernments will fake it
In the June 20 issue of the Mercury News, the writer of the letter entitled “Foreign governments can’t offer ‘dirt’ if there’s none” asserts something astoundingly naïve. He said that if there is no dirt, a foreign government can’t offer any.
Really? In fact, false information is exactly what a foreign government prefers to offer.
Witness the 2016 campaign. In fact Donald Trump himself said he wants to see what is being offered before he decides whether to inform the FBI — a draconian statement if there ever was one.
If he likes what he sees, do you think he would report it? I’m sure the letter-writer believes that.
