Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones List Stunning Bermuda Estate for $10.6 Million

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones just listed their Bermuda compound for a staggering $10.6 million — but this isn’t your average celebrity home bursting at the seams with glitz, glamour and lavish amenities. The estate sits on an island the Douglas family has frequented for many decades, dating as far back as the 1600s.

Following the listing of the A-list couple‘s Majorca estate for just over $32 million, Douglas and Zeta-Jones have recently listed their three-acre, 7,381-square-foot, eight-bedroom, eight-bath home with Rego Sotheby’s International Realty. In addition to the main home, the property includes a two-story guesthouse, a two-bedroom cottage (specifically for the caretaker) and a one-bedroom apartment.

According to Variety, the expansive estate — built in a Caribbean Colonial style — has a long-list of amenities, from an herb garden and fruit orchard and a swimming pool to a tennis court, a sauna in the basement of all places, a media room and an exercise room. Plus, the estate boasts jaw-dropping views of Hamilton Harbour from the master suite’s 50-foot-long veranda.

Children can roam the main floor’s children’s wing, which is comprised of two bedrooms and lounges. As for the kitchen, future owners can enjoy the built-in dining banquette. And on cold nights, warm up by the one of two fireplaces found inside the home, one in the living room and one in the dining room.

But it’s undoubtedly the history of this home that’s most appealing.

Douglas told Architectural Digest back in 2002 that he celebrated his first birthday in Bermuda: “There’s real solace in returning to this tiny island where I have so many relatives, probably 70, in one place. To me, Bermuda is a real family spot.” The publications further reports that his mother, Diana, was a member of one of the oldest and most respected families in Bermuda, and her ancestors lived on the island in the 1600s.
