Blake Shelton Might Be Proposing to Gwen Stefani Sooner Than We Think
Are Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani gearing up to share some big news very, very soon? The country singer’s recent comments may have been a clue that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are getting engaged soon. In fact, if you pay attention to the wording Shelton uses, it’s not a matter of if the couple will be getting engaged — it’s a matter of when.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Shelton discussed recent relationship rumors about him and Stefani — including the Possibility of a trip to the altar in the near future. Per Shelton, an engagement isn’t happening soon, but it might also not not be happening. Shelton explained, “First of all, the rumors stuff, I’m not gonna sit here and say that it makes me mad. It’s funny. I’ve learned over the years just to take that for what it is.” The singer went on to say to call the rumors “complimentary.”
He remarked, “If I am somehow, and Gwen is somehow, newsworthy enough that they have to make up stories about us just to have something to say, then I guess that’s a good problem to have. You know, I gotta say that we couldn’t be happier, and we’ve never been doing better.”
Now here’s where it gets interesting. Shelton continue by telling ET that his relationship with Stefani “gets stronger every day.” He went on to say, “Obviously, [the rumors have] gotta lead somewhere, but I promise you, we won’t break the news in any of the grocery store trash magazines. When it happens, you’ll hear about it from somebody like you. Maybe even you, exclusively. You’re credible. You’re incredible, and you’re credible.”
Listen, I know it’s a lot to read into a few words of casual conversation from Shelton, but the phrase “when it happens” feels very telling, don’t you think? With the couple now three and a half years into their relationship, it’s not exactly ridiculous to think a proposal is happening soon. Maybe now that Stefani is back as a judge on The Voice, Shelton will pop the question on the show that brought them together? Here’s to hoping.
