Updating: Here is every free agent connected to the Lakers

The Lakers already have LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Now we wait and see which free agent (or free agents) they’re ultimately going to sign.

The Los Angeles Lakers are heading into free agency this summer with Anthony Davis, LeBron James and (likely) max cap space. In this post, we’re going to be providing a list of who reliable sources have reported the team has shown interest in, and other free agency scuttlebutt.

Bookmark this page and check back, because we’ll be updating with each development on each player. Hopefully this helps you keep track of everything, and also illustrates just how much (sometimes conflicting) noise there is regarding all of this.

Kawhi Leonard

• (6/18) Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that the Lakers are not seen as serious contenders for Leonard, and may not even get a meeting.
• (6/17) Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer reported that the Lakers will pursue Leonard this summer, as expected. He has said so multiple times.

Kyrie Irving

• (6/16) Someone close to LeBron James reportedly thinks that Kyrie Irving is “in play” for the Lakers, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic. David Aldridge (also of The Athletic) also has heard that Irving has interest in playing with Anthony Davis.

Jimmy Butler

• (6/16) Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported in the aftermath of the Anthony Davis trade that Jimmy Butler was a “top priority” for the Lakers.
• (6/14) Haynes reported earlier that the Lakers have “genuine interest” in Butler, who was seen sporting purple and gold shoes on Instagram earlier in the summer, fueling further speculation about his intentions for free agency.

D’Angelo Russell

• (6/22) According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, now that Magic Johnson is gone, D’Angelo Russell might be open to a second stint in L.A.

Kemba Walker

• (6/16) In the aftermath of the Anthony Davis trade, there were two separate reports that Walker is a top target for the team in free agency.

Al Horford

• (6/19) Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reported that Horford is on the Lakers’ list of targets, but below other, bigger stars.

Brook Lopez

• (6/21) Brian Windhorst of ESPN said on a podcast that the Lakers are “sniffing around” Lopez.
• (6/16) Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported that some within the Lakers are interested in bringing Lopez back in free agency this summer.

DeAndre Jordan

• (6/21) Brian Windhorst of ESPN said that Jordan “is a guy on the Lakers’ radar that they’re hoping they may able to get for relatively cheap because he wants to be back in L.A.”

Rajon Rondo

• (6/17) Rondo reportedly wants to return to the Lakers, but while the team has interest, they appear to want to look at other options first.

Patrick Beverley

• (6/17) Patrick Beverley sent some cryptic tweets implying that the Lakers might be interested in him.

Derrick Favors

• (6/18) The Lakers might be one of the teams interested in Derrick Favors in free agency, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic.

Bobby Portis

• (6/18) The Lakers have some degree of interest in Bobby Portis, although how much isn’t exactly clear, and he’s not a perfect fit for the team.
