Quakes’ Wondolowski added to MLS All-Star roster
NEW YORK (AP) — Chris Wondolowski’s final season in Major League Soccer will include a date against Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
MLS All-Star coach James O’Connor added the San Jose Earthquakes striker to the star-studded roster that’ll take on Atletico next month. O’Connor also added forwards Josef Martinez (Atlanta) and Diego Rossi (LA) to the squad, along with 10 others.
Earlier this season, Wondolowski passed Landon Donovan as the league’s all-time leading goal scorer with a four-goal performance May 18 against the Chicago Fire. This will be his fifth appearance on the MLS All-Star roster.
Retiring Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando was added to the Major League Soccer All-Star roster on Monday by Commissioner Don Garber.
