PITCH WORKS
Pitch works are progressing well during the closed season, as you can see from these photos. The recent downpours were very welcome and helped to soften the ground ahead of the disc seeding and verti-draining but in typical UK fashion the clouds have dispersed and we’re on what feels like the edge of a mini heatwave. The good news is that with the cricket world cup in the UK it’s bound to rain again before too long – or is that just wishful thinking?
Whilst there is still a lot of work to be done, hopefully the photos show that the work performed today is having a positive impact and we’ve only just started the latest programme. With more work scheduled over the coming weeks and a full programme in place for the entire season we’re looking to see further improvements. This year Graham is being supported by Mark Panter and between them, and following all the work completed over several seasons, the club are sure that we’ll have the best pitch Latimer Park has seen for some time.
