After a dominant win over Japan in the opener, the Chileans took part in the worst game of the tournament against Ecuador. However, Alexis Sánchez made sure to score the winner for his nation and give them the advantage coming into the decisive match against Uruguay, the other great team in the group.

La Celeste announced themselves as favorites thanks to a fantastic performance and four-goal win against Ecuador, but a four-goal tie with Japan in the second round created some doubts about the team’s consistency. With four points so far, they must beat Chile to finish first and avoid a tougher opponent in the quarterfinals, so Edinson Cavani and Luis Suárez will have to be at their best in front of goal to win this one.
