Whoops! Did this ‘Amazing Race’ finale preview just spoil the final three teams? (Yes, yes, it did)

0

Wednesday’s two-hour finale of “The Amazing Race 31” will cut the fourth-place team at the end of the first hour, and if you watch the new preview above very carefully, you can figure out who the final three teams are.

This is the danger of “Race’s” two-hour finales: The show has to edit together previews that highlight all the teams but are vague enough that don’t give away who doesn’t make the final three. But its own previews and press photos in the past have self-spoiled, and it’s happened again.

If you don’t want to know, get out of here. If you never wanted to know, what the hell are you even doing here?

So, first things first, the final four — Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, and Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo — will jet to London, and the finale three will complete the “Race” in Detroit. This is the official CBS synopsis for the finale:

With the $1 million on the line, the final four teams Race through London, where they take a helicopter ride to Dover Castle, and through Detroit, where they rappel nearly 500 feet down the Guardian Building. The team to cross the finish line first will be crowned the winners of ‘The Amazing Race’ on the two-hour season finale, Wednesday, June 26 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

OK, final warning.

The final three teams are the Afghanimals, Colin and Christie, and Tyler and Korey.

In the beginning of the preview, Leo says, “I’m about to walk off of a building for a million bucks,” and it’s followed by shots of him and Colin walking down the side of a building that, hmm, looks an awfully lot like Detroit’s Guardian Building.

In the shot of Colin, you can see the partial name of a bank on the building above him. That bank is Fifth Third Bank, and there is a skybridge that connects the two buildings.

Also early in the clip is a shot of Tyler frantically turning the wheel handle on a vault door. The Guardian Building is famous for its vaulted lobby, where the former safety deposit vault is now used as an event space.

And if that’s not enough, later on in the preview, Christie is seen climbing into a cab in a city that is definitely in the United States of America. I mean, look at these cars (drivers on the left!), traffic lights and street signs. London would never. Plus, that cab is Metro Cab, which is apparently Michigan’s No. 1 taxi company.

So poor Nic and Vic, the final non-“Race” team who also ironically lives in Michigan, finish in fourth place — not bad at all — giving us an all-“Race” final three, which means that every single leg this season will be won by a “Race” team. Dom. In. Ation.

“The Amazing Race 31” finale airs Wednesday at 9/8c on CBS.
