Meghan Markle ‘break from maternity leave again to attend The Lion King premiere with Prince Harry’
PRINCE Harry is set to attend the premiere of The Lion King in London later this month and it looks as though Meghan Markle may be joining him.
According to Hello! Meghan “is keen to be at her husband’s side” at the event which takes place in London’s Leicester Square on 14 July.
If she does attend the Duchess of Sussex will be breaking her maternity leave which won’t come to an end until the autumn.
Hello! reports that a final decision on her attendance will be made nearer the time, depending on how she is feeling and making arrangements for the care or Archie Harrison.
Fabulous Digital contacted the palace who said they were unable to issue any ‘further guidance’ on the event.
Regardless of whether Meghan attends, Harry will certainly be looking forward to the event.
He previously admitted to The Times that the original Disney classic is his favourite film, revealing that he has watched it “more than 20 times.”
The European premiere of the live-action version of The Lion King will be held “in support of the conservation and communities work of His Royal Highness through The Royal Foundation”, a spokesman confirmed.
Among the VIP guests attending are cast members Beyonce Knowles-Carter, Seth Rogen, and Donald Glover.
The film will support Disney’s Protect the Pride initiative which has already seen them donate $1.5m to the Lion Recovery Fund, music to Harry’s ears as the Patron of Africa Parks.
Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will travel to South Africa later this year with Harry then making his way to Malawi, Angola and Botswana solo for the second leg of the tour.
Last week we revealed that Meghan and Archie won’t join him on the second leg because the ‘plane is too small.’
A source close to the palace told Fabulous Digital: “The Duchess will stay with her son, who will be just under five months old when the visit takes place.
“The Duke will be travelling in a very small plane to Botswana, Angola and Malawi and due to the size of the aircraft and some remote locations that Harry will be visiting, it is not possible to take a small baby.”

The insider also confirmed that Meghan and Archie will continue their stay in South Africa rather than travel back to the UK.
While the exact type of aircraft that the Duke will travel in is not known it is likely to be a light propeller aircraft.
