YAY! Still got it!
A friend wanted to trail ride, so dusted off the old chromoly GT and went out to ride. Nothing radical-just the usual singletrack with rocks, roots, stream crossing, etc. No log jumps or major drops. Rode around 6 miles. But at 68, I'm happy to still be capable. I was real happy when, after stopping to give my friend a break (doesn't ride trails much), that I actually caught up to some much younger riders who had gone by us. And was real happy, when after the ride, I was talking with another rider who was there. We got to talking bikes and I mentioned all the upgrades I had made on the GT. He mentioned it was probably heavy, and was surprised when he picked it up-it isn't any heavier than many more modern alum. framed trail bikes!! Couldn't have wiped off the smile after that ride!!
