Woman dies as car crashes into Specsavers window
A pedestrian has been killed as a car lost control and crashed through a window of Specsavers opticians.
The woman, in her forties, was taken to hospital but could not be saved.
The accident happened in Boston, Lincolnshire shortly after 1.30pm today.
Lincolnshire Police said the driver of a grey Citroen has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A spokesman tweeted: ‘Emergency services on scene at a serious road traffic accident on Wide Bargate, Boston outside of Specsavers Opticians.
‘The vehicle was being driven by a driver in her eighties. Please avoid the area while we deal with this incident. Injuries are being assessed we will provide an update when we can.’
The road is expected to remain closed until 6.30pm.
