Woman who was raised on a council estate now earns £6m a year after launching the ‘world’s best eyeshadow primer’
A WOMAN who was brought up on a council estate now runs a beauty business with a £6m yearly turnover after launching the “world’s best eyeshadow primer”.
Paige Louise, 26, from Manchester, kickstarted her beauty empire with a miracle £10 eye makeup base which prevents shadow from creasing.
Since launching last year, the P. Louise base has sold over 300,000 units and regularly sells out on the website.
Alongside her successful make-up brand, Paige has also founded the P. Louise Academy which teaches courses in hair training and make-up artistry.
But while the young entrepreneur has enjoyed great success in the first year of her business, Paige came from much humbler beginnings and was raised on a council estate in Manchester.
Paige’s mother had her when she was just 16 years old and the savvy businesswoman grew up sharing a bed with her brother as her mum struggled to make ends meet.

When she was 20 years old, Paige trained to became a make-up artist which is when she started experimenting with techniques and figuring out what she liked and disliked about products.
Alongside this, Paige also worked as a freelance Asian bridal make-up artist and worked 17-hour days to supplement her £600 monthly income.
She told the Daily Mail: “I experimented a lot with products from a young age.
“I used to stare at these gorgeous shadows sitting in these luxury palettes and then get very frustrated when I didn’t receive the colour pay-off on my clients’ eyelids.”
After spotting this gap in the market, the entrepreneur went on to found her makeup brand P. Louise in 2018 with the help of her grandmother who took out a £20,000 loan to support Paige’s business.
Following the success of the eyeshadow primer, Paige’s mother has been able to quit her job as an ICU nurse earning £32,000 a year to devote more time to her family.
Paige said: “I’ve grown up watching my mum everyday work herself into a supermum frenzy, trying to provide the best life for me and my brothers.”
The businesswoman decided to turn one of the offices within her makeup academy into a clinic for her mum to practice in.
She added: “I gave her a new salary of £42,000 with the option to work her own hours around my brothers. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. Being surrounded by a happy family is so important.”
Since launching her best-selling primer, Paige has also branched out into eyeshadow, false lashes and lip gloss.
