Uruguay were largely regarded as one of the favourites in this year’s Copa America competition, alongside hosts Brazil.
And that’s exactly why everyone was slightly taken aback by their unexpected elimination from the tournament, following an unsuccessful penalty shootout against Peru.
Lucas Torreira, a rising favourite amongst Arsenal fans and a second-half substitute in the defeat, took to Instagram to share an emotional message to the fans and his teammates alike.
