Meltdown at Thorntons: Chocolate firm slides deeper into the red as it continues to shut stores

Losses at the chocolatier grew to £38.3m in the year to August 31, compared with £31.1m a year earlier. The company was hit by £2.3m in one-off costs relating to a string of store closures and restructuring.
