How Killing Eve has lost the plot with ‘gargantuan’ holes in the storyline – and all the questions we still have
EVE Polastri spots a corpse that’s been left on the street by artful assassin Villanelle and her eyes begin to flicker as she looks around for the notorious murderess.
But when Villanelle drives straight past her just seconds later, her face just inches from Eve’s, viewers were left asking the question: How did Eve miss her?
This scene from episode two of Killing Eve has left viewers flummoxed because it just doesn’t make sense.
But it’s not the only blooper. Fans believe the second series is riddled with “gargantuan” plot holes that have been plaguing viewers who say the thriller has lost its sparkle.
Here, we reveal the biggest plot holes in the series so far…
Could she have actually broken Gabrielle’s neck like that?
Episode one left viewers shocked when Villanelle broke the neck of a 12-year-old orphan who told he he wished he was dead.
But it’s actually incredibly difficult to break someone’s neck this way – and it’s definitely not immediately fatal.
This brutal move would actually lead to instant paralysis below the neck, and then death over the next few minutes.
Why didn’t the police surround Villanelle’s hotel?
In episode three, Villanelle is reunited with her first handler Konstantin – who she shot in the heart in series one – at a London hotel.
The pair, who had been contract killing for a mysterious organisation called The Twelve, agree to go “freelance”.
But Eve is hot on Villanelle’s tail and storms their hotel with a team of armed police officers.
When Eve finally gets to the right room and yells “she’s behind this door”, cops break in to find Viallanelle and Konstantin have escaped out of a window.
But if there were swarms of officers hunting the corridors of the hotel, why was no one watching the outside of the building?
That doesn’t seem very logical.
What was with the brothel ‘bacon’ scene?
In episode four, Villanelle dresses in a pink Bavarian dress and a pig’s head mask before luring a sleazy punter into an Amsterdam brothel.
Inspired by a grisly Jan de Baen’s painting she sees in the Rijksmuseum, she strings him up by his feet and butchers him in front of a baying crowd watching through the window.
While the crowd seem to think it’s some sort of magic trick, they mysteriously all disperse the moment he dies.
But even if the spectators do believe they are watching some kind of weird performance art, the plot loses it when the victim’s own wife joins and watches impassively as her husband is knifed to death.
Why did no one stop Villanelle’s murderous toilet attack?
After taking drugs in a club, Villanelle decides to try and murder a fellow clubber who jumps the queue in the ladies.
The culprit is promptly pinned against the wall as Villanelle strangles her to within an inch of her life, only stopping when Konstantin crashed the party.
While anyone who has waited hours in a club toilet queue will sympathise with her murderous intent, we’d like to think most clubbers would step in if an unarmed woman was actually murdering another in an open cubicle.
Why did no one stop Konstantin?
Konstantin dealt with Villanelle’s potentially fatal hissy fit by throwing her over his shoulder and marching her through the crowded club to the door.
Villanelle hit his back and yelled “get off me” at the top of her voice the whole time – but her resistance was futile.

To all intents and purposes she looked like a woman being kidnapped – so why was there not a bouncer or even a clubber trying to stop this apparent abduction?
There are plenty more twists – and even bigger plot holes – to come, but to tell you more would constitute a spoiler.
