Eric Swalwell to drop out of Democratic presidential race: reports
California Rep. Eric Swalwell is set to drop out of the race for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, reports said Monday. The congressman is expected to make the announcement Monday afternoon in his district outside San Francisco. He would be the first Democrat to drop out of the crowded field. The Los Angeles Times said he plans to focus on seeking re-election to his House seat. The 39-year-old lawmaker got a brief burst of attention at the first debate in Miami, when he urged former Vice President Joe Biden to "pass the torch" to a younger generation.
