[Baseball] Torsey Makes Debut for La Crosse Loggers in Northwoods League
LA CROSSE, Wis. - Viterbo Baseball pitcher Samuel Torsey made his Northwoods League debut for the La Crosse Loggers in a 4-3 win over the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Friday.
Torsey relieved the Loggers' starting pitcher Matt Kennedy with one out in the top of the eighth inning. He inherited runners on first and third bases. A fielding error allowed a runner to score, but an out on a rundown and a groundout ended the threat. Torsey walked a batter during his 0.2 innings pitched.
The V-Hawk made his first start on Sunday in an 8-3 win at the Waterloo Bucks. Torsey pitched 4.0 innings, earning a no-decision after surrendering two runs on six hits. He struck out two batters and walked two.
Torsey holds a 3.85 earned run average in 4.2 innings over two games this season. The Loggers will continue a series with the Bucks in Waterloo tonight at 6:35 p.m.
